We miss you Nadim…
Posted By wassim in Education/Teaching, WassimOne of my students, 17 years old Nadim Moughrabi, passed away two days ago in a car accident, I knew about it yesterday and I was really saddened by this big loss…
We spend years and years with our students, we enjoy having them around and we don’t mind seeing them leave as graduates, we know we’ll probably not see them again after graduation but that’s ok, they go on with their lives and it’s our job to get them ready for the rest of their journey after all…
Nadim was not just any students, he was special, a pure hearted, respectful yet fun person you just can’t ignore…
He left and we’re still stuck wondering what happened, we expect this young man to just walk into school tomorrow, singing away as usual…It’s just so hard for me and for every other teacher in school to see one of our young sons leaving this way.
The long teaching hours we spend with our students, watching them grow and mature, sharing the good and bad times with them makes us a big family, without knowing it we become so strongly tied that such a sad event affects everyone’s life so deeply as if a real family member has died…
May God grant his family, especially his twin brother Ayman who happens to be another student of mine, patience and strength and may God have mercy on our beloved Nadim.

it’s riva.. i just wanted to comment on what you have written.. it’s really touching… for me i didnt actually know nadim a lot but just the mere fact that a student who used to go with me everyday to school has passed away makes me sad and to know the same idea that he hasnt gone properly like any other students makes me cry… and i’m really sad about his brother ayman i heard him saying how nadim is everything to him… may god bring peace among his soul.

Hi there Riva,
In the middle of all this, I forgot to congratulate you and the rest of your class for your astonishing achievement and the great result in the official exams.
As I said before, I know I will probably NOT have students like you again, not in the ten coming years at least…
Good luck and thank you for leaving a comment to this thread.

Honestly, i was just searching for the name on google, and i found this link, you, Mr. Sidani, were one of Nadim\’s favorite teachers, even though he hated you in the begining, in Secondary one, but this year, he always listed that you were among the best teachers ever, and that you were the best biology teacher we ever had… Nadim\’s loss was hard on everybody, because that pure angel left no bad impressions on anybody, my relationships with Nadim was more than friendship or even brotherhood… Thank you for remembering him, and please be sure, my dear teacher, that Nadim was the purest amongst us, and he always guided us throughout his life…
You have gained my complete respect, honestly, I love you sir, thank you for being patient on us all those years, and I promise you, we have changed.

Hi there Mohammad,
I have always considered each and every one of you as a son or a brother, In secondary one, I had to be strict as you were numerous and I had to enforce discipline in order to be able to teach you.
That’s probably why most students hate me in secondary one, I don’t mind that as I know they will change their mind the next year.
As for Nadim, I’ve always considered him as a pure child stuck in the body of a teenager, I know how close you were and I feel the loss you’re suffering…
I hope he’s better of where he is now, it really is a hard life…
You have changed, I am sure you did, the loss of a good friend is always a traumatizing event that changes the way we think and see this life.
Thank you for the nice words, I truly wish you and your classmates the best.
Wassim Sidani.

Hi there Mohamad,
Thank you for your comment, I second what you said about Nadim and Ayman.
I myself know very well what it feels to lose a family member especially if he/she is a close freind as well.

Hi all,
I knew Nadim and Ayman very well a few years ago but we lost contact when i moved to a different school. Nadim was a great and caring guy. He was one of the nicest guys in his class that I met. How did he pass away?

Dear Mr. Wassim,
i was browsing through your website to watch the video of rami(allah ykhaleelak yeih) and i happened to catch this note. i know its late to post a reply but nadim deserves each and every prayer from us each and every second of our life. its very thoughtful that you wrote for nadim and highly appreciated whether from me, classmates or even nadim. honestly we still all suffer till today for the loss of a wonderful man. he was such a pure and bright person. i really do miss him alot and he’s always on my mind everyday. but we have no choice but to pray for him that his soul rests in peace and heaven and that allah yir7amo w ysabir his family. take care now and of rami!
